This is a great story. I was driving with my friend, me in the Celi cuz it's going to snow soon so I'm just driving it around trying to get the kinks out of the SAFC and I was behind my friend in his 2003.5 MazdaSpeed Protege. I've raced before the SAFC and he pretty much spanked on me. Well this time, held in the brake all the way held in the gas about half way to get it at about 2500rpm...on green I let go. We're neck and neck all the way through the interesection, he's gotta shift before I even hit 5k in my low gear. I shift up as I hit about 45mph and just lightly touching the redline...shift is smooth, now I shoot a car length ahead of him. I hear his turbo spooling and all of a sudeen whoosh...he has to shift to third as we approach about 65. I shift to drive at about 75. By this time his turbo is spooling and about to kill me but at 85 he has to shift and my drive gear is just getting to 4k. We let up at 100 and I beat him by two car lengths.
So did the SAFC help? I think so. I haven't beat on this car sicne I got the thing and it feels like a different car. I easily beat him with my old RX, and my new Supra...and haven't taken him on in my new RX...but I never thought the Celi would do it. I'm in the mood for some kill stories...post!!!
