So when I took down my sunroof to finish my custom headliner, I scratched the passenger side airbag plastic cover thing. It sits on top of the dash. Is it possible to replace that with a junk yard one? or is that actually part of the airbag? i dont know why, but it annoys the Sh** out of me

my airbag cover was slightly faded i just masked off with newspaper and sprayed it with black duplicolor vinyl and fabric dye it matches perfect now took 15 mins just make sure you use some rubbing alcohol first and wipe it down so you take off any grease and dirt so the paint sticks

It's just a door not directly connected to the bag itself. part number = 50540-20010-C0 If you plan on changing out the door though, make sure you pull your battery ground for at least 90 seconds before you start to replace it! You don't want to messing around with anything around the air bags as it doesn't take much to set one off! A little static will do it!
The vinyl is very thin over the door is why they all fade easily. Something you may want to try is "Mothers Back to Black" that's about $6 bucks. I've used it for the last year and after the third coating my air bag door vinyl is as black as the dash. I use it every time I finish my dash and other vinyl and I'm satisfied. Agreed, from experience. i masked mine off when i first got my car (the airbag thing was faded.. for whatever reason) and a quick spray of the black vinyl paint matched up noticeably. Have painted red now, just make sure you mask it off very well, and MAKE sure you put down enough paper! The over spray inside a car is far more than the outside, just when you think there is enough, put down more!
