I'm getting the 3s-GTE swap done in 5 months so for now I have to keep my 5s running good. I just recently did a drain and fill on my auto transmission. I know regarding a flush it gets basically all the fluid out the pan and gears...etc. The drain and fill just gets out whats in the pan but all the other fluid stays in. When you do just an ordinary drain and fill with the transmission are you supposed to put only 3 or less of those quarts of ATF in. I put 4 1/2 quarts of ATF after doing a drain and fill. So I'm thinking I might have put way to much fresh ATF in the transmission. I've been driving around for at least 2 weeks since I did this. Is is **cking up my transmission? I haven't noticed a difference in shifting.
How much transmission fluid is supposed to go in after doing just a drain? I did check the sticky thread regarding changing the transmission fluid but the one for the "Automatic" just takes me to the M/T guide. This post has been edited by Tech-Nics: Aug 5, 2010 - 12:25 PM |
