ADDED NEW QUESTION! guider and replacement?, help removing the 5 speed trans from 7a engine Options

Hey everybody,
Good news, i took Manny's (Pressure2) advice about using 5 and 16 chain links
instead of buying a leveler and it came right out with hardly any trouble (=

but now i'm trying to take of the trans from the engine and i took out all the bolts and
it started to come partway off with a little force, but now i'm not sure how to get it the rest of
the way off?? do i just have to go balls to the wall and go hulk on it or is there something i'm missing? haha.

the easy way to get it out of the engine out of the car is,

1. Make sure you got all the bolts out!!!

2. With a prybar gently pry in 4 angles.

3. if it moves, then pull it out.


or you can try to pull it out with brute force. but thats why men invented tools.

haha alright, i was just making sure that i could pry on it and that there wasn't something simple that i was missing and would break... gonna head back out now and see if i can get it seperated with some TOOLS!

mine kinda just came apart from the weight of it in the air... i think i pryed a little tiny bit, but it wasnt too hard. Make sure all the bolts are off, mighta missed some stupid one hiding behind greese lol.

got the tranny off and as i was switching stuff over,
i had a thought.


does anyone have the plastic tool that guides in the shaft for the shaft/spindle thing
?? if not can you point me to one?

also do i need to replace the throw out bearing? if yes, can you point me to where i can
buy just that?

i dont remember exactly what tools were used when i did mine, but i did use some special thing to hold stuff in place... lol that doesnt really make sense, but someone will point you in the right direction.
But yeah replace the throw out! I didnt on mine, and now its starting to squeak and its an annnnnnnoying sound

yes, buy a new throw out bearing from toyota. (lagos can get you the best deal)
if you dont have an alignment tool, IIRC a 19mm deep socket works.

i have one, but getting it to you in a timely fashion would be the problem.
if ya dont mind napa holding your money for a few hrs, just pick up a clutch kit (they do include the alignment tool in a clutch kit), use the tool, and return it when your done..not that i've ever done that exact thing...i would never do somthing like that. lulz.

eh i don't really have the cash to pay what they want for a new clutch right now even if i would get it back.. if you sent yours out, when do you think it'd get here? i mean id have to wait on the tob anywayss ha

the problem is me having time to get to the PO to get it out to you.
my work hrs make it tough for me to get there while its open. i have wednesday off, but that would mean you wouldnt see it till maybe friday or monday.
