i had problems removing the icv from the throttle body too and stripped the screws holding it on. one way to get them off is to use a hammer and flathead screwdriver and put the flathead against one side of the phillips screw and hammer the butt end of the screwdriver. this will give enough torque to loosen the screws and it worked for me. but you'll need to hold the TB on a vice to do this. if you can't get it off, then i'd suggest going back to the breakers to get the entire throttle body.

usually it's not the magnetic motor that's the problem, it's the valve itself and can get dirty from the air that passes through it and clogs up preventing it from rotating. you need to get to it and clean it out.

my valve it self moves easyer than the replacment i bought funnerly enough but gave it a blast with some carb cleaner today anyway, all i can do is remove the air filter arm amd fill the valve and air pipe then start the car, it sucks it all though, i did run the tank right down thursday wirdly and i know it puts a strain on the pump praphes i sucked up all the from the bottom of the tank?
regardles i put the replacment mag motor back on and the car idels swweeeeet, just have to see how it fires up when i leave work tonight and im posting off the valve back to the sender for a replacment to see if thatll solve it! biggrin.gif

Ok started up the car cold last night, and It catches but only hits around 1150 1200, and if you rev it it stalls and won't restart, you have to floor it while cranking to get it to start!

Right, I've found that when I have a tank of fuel the car starts a little better and starts cOld at around 1200 rpm just about and won't stall out if it's reved, butif the fuel gets low like in to the last quarter of the tank the car just about fires up and just idles and stalls if reved! Could this issue just be not my Icv but my fuel pump going to hell? Not priming and no holding cold start psi?
Anyone??????????????

ask someone for someone to lend you a working fuel pump or buy a replacement walbro...it sounds like you dont have any fuel pressure...check the hoses for any leaks? does it leak inside the tank? my sandrail had a broken hose and a tiny leak of fuel i the tank was enough to let it start and die and my friggin walbro 190 died on my fkin POS or a vacuum leak mayb

Was leaning toward the pump, so I shorted the b+ fP terminals on the dcp1 and had the key to on, had a wosshing sound but not in the know enough about the pump in the first place, I started the car and same business no cold start so I'm no closer to finding out weather or not it's the icv of the fuel pump!

Right this is getting on my nerves now, got hold Of a replacement icv and maneged to saw not he's in to my screw and swaped to valve over, but car still won't cold start properly! It's obviously not the valve ski rechecked to two terminals on the diagnostic port and I can hear a woshing sound in the pipes from the fuel pump, short of having to spend over £200 on a fpr and pump and hope dose any one have any advice?

Come on people
The more I look in to this the more I'm confused, doing the rad water today as well the air in take and water temp sensors. Was looking at the vsv fuel pressure thing but don't know if the thing handles cold or ho starts?
