Hello fellow 6th genres, question for all...did 3rd gen 3sgte swap ( st205 ), Dr Tweak did a great job on converting my harness to plug n play with my 94 GT ( 5sfe originally ) everything seems great turns over great and smell fuel....but no spark, checked to make sure these things are good:
Rotor turns,
Bought new cap n rotor, still nothing....switched back to old cap n rotor...nothing,
Tested wiring clips that plug to igniter....good ( power is there )
No spark from coil wire to cap
This wire reads 4.6 resistance ( seems like alot for an 11in wire )
While turning car over checked for spark from coil to wire....nothing,
Swapped igniter for my 5s one, they are same part #s n all....still nothing,
My last resort I believe is to test the coil somehow, considering no spark from coil to wire to cap, igniter has power going to it on both clips, and all grounds are in place...I heard something about a ground inside the distributer itself ( donknow )

If there is something I am missing and have not checked, please throw it out here, my last step is to test the coil today, im hoping it is dead because as far as i know this is my last resort!!!

It's your ignition coil.

get a multimeter and test the primary and secondary leads on the coil, there should be a sticky link showing CEL codes. Find the page where it has the codes for ignition failure. It should give you ohms readings where the coil should be when Cold and Hot.

808, hows it going..so your saying check the leads, meaning the four prong clip off of dirtributer? the one that is G- G NE, and then match up to see if these primary and secondary circuits run within the limits of where they are suppossed to be.....I checked the coil that plugs into the dis. cap, and power going into the pos. and neg. ( reads full circuit inside coil ) and the discharge to cap reads 11.6 across the board......???? it looks like the coil is perfect running order, but nothing comming out to cap checked for spark n everything
