Hi Guys
For a few weeks ago, I got my Carbon Fibre hood. Now I am waiting on the GT4-Grille of Booster tuning in Belgium. They are making it from carbon fibre When I bought my 6C, there was already the Booster bodykit mounted on. ![]() There are a few "round" parts and I gonna make them of carbon. At first I try the little 2 parts behind my front wheels. Here are some pics playing with carbon I tried 2 diffrent options: Here is 1 option ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and here is the 2 option ![]() ![]() ![]() and here is the first part finished ![]() ![]() so now i got to try this on the other parts This post has been edited by BlackWidow: Apr 9, 2011 - 1:43 PM |

Definitely option 2, option 1 will look worst after a while when the carbon fiber gets dirty.

This bodykit is not my favorite, but I have to say, that with the carbon details it will be much better. If you ask whether to choose the light or the dark carbon fiber I'd choose the dark one. The whole car was styled to black color so dark carbon will do better by my opinion. Post some pictures with this first carbon fiber part put on.

You see by option 1 where it is placed on the car, that was whit only 1 layer of epoxy (dont know how to call it in english)
It wasn't ready on that picture. it get just the same color as in option 2. Tomorrow i will place it on the car and make some pictures. |

Sorry, I misunderstood the options. Now it's clear to me. I'd still choose the second option as it looks much better and as SupraKid wrote, it won't look good when dirty.
Looking forward to see it no the car! |

That would be an expensive knee protector.

The third part looks good. Is it the "large" front or the rear part?
Do you have any new pictures on the car? I'm just curious but no hurry. ![]() This post has been edited by Urputus: Feb 27, 2011 - 7:48 AM |

This is the part behind the left door on the skirt.
![]() ![]() Between the bodykit parts a started 2 new carbon fibre projects. The clear tank cover is the mold for the carbon edition. Here are some pics off today. ![]() ![]() now this part is drying and tomorrow I will take of the mold. Because the paint of the manifold heat-schield get loose, it will be coverd with a carbon layer. Here are the pics for so far: ![]() ![]() On this pic the epoxy is drying, butt it need 1 or 2 extra layers of epoxy, to get the effect of a carbon fibre hood ![]() This post has been edited by BlackWidow: Feb 28, 2011 - 11:41 AM |

Looks great! The third part I meant.
Aren't you afraid, that the heat from manifold will destroy the cf cover of the heat shield? And what more, isn't there a risk of fire? |

Yes i know that the heat can be a problem. Butt i will wrap the manifold in with heat-wrap and the schield get a layer of heat resistant tape for cover. I hope that this will help.
I need to try it. Maybe i will take it to car shows and putt it on @ the location, for show use only hehe |

I think epoxy is higly flamable, so I would recommend not to use it on long rides. I hope you have a fire extinguisher in your car:p
Would be great for car shows! This post has been edited by Urputus: Mar 1, 2011 - 1:29 AM |
