So I jumped te1 and e1 today and got flash pause flash flash. code 12. can anyone tell me what this code means? Ive had recent starting problems but previously no CE light has come up

edit, also can I have some possible fixes for this problem. From what ive searched its a problem with the ECU not receiving an "RPM" signal from the igniter... (?)

I've had the same problem from quite a while though, and google'd it and never really understood what it meant.
It came on when I crossed a rough intersection, so i thought maybe it was some sort of sensor knocked loose.
I'd really like to know what it means as well lol.

hmm well its giving me crazy cranking times, often in excess of 20min cranking :\. and its really becoming a problem. need to get it sorted asap!!

Thanks Smaay, what I get from that is "no distributor pulses". So.. what could be the cause of this?

the distributor tells the ECU the position of the engine, that tells the ECU when to fire the injectors. if that signal is not getting to the ECU then it wont fire the injectors and no engine run

but when it finally does fire (after say 5 - 10 cranks) it runs like there was no problem.. wouldnt it never start it there was such a problem?

and so basically the dizzy is f**ked or would there be somethign else that could be causing the problem eg igniter

you need to do this test when the car is running, of course it will throw a 12 if the engine is not because its not turning the distributor. i would look into having your injectors services first. its possible that they are responding really slow why it takes so long to get the engine going.

send them to witchhunter.com they have a good service and turnaround

From what ive learned having this CEL does cause hard/no starts which is what im having. So no matter what, having the engine not running will throw this code? cause ive never had a code prior to this with the engine not running
