definetly mechanic, my mechanic is the god of the 3sgte swap... he has done it in every gen celica including the new celica, imagine a 7th gen celica with 3sgte running 540 to the wheels.... it cost me 9k for everything... $2k labor $6.7k parts. $300 for 3 hours of dyno tunning. FYI: my intercooler core came from one of the evos used in 2 fast 2 furious. They had 5 evos. Mine came frome the one that they used to bust threw the gates to get the cigar from the ferrari. if you pause the movie you can see that it wreked it's front pumper... he took the intercooler, cut off the broken part and used it to make my core... he wrote abou it... check it out
Custom Intercooler building tech article.

i reccomend you post it on the site.... since it is for a 6th gen celica.

my mod list is in my profile .... but here it is again

1. 3rd generation 3sgte Engine and Tranny from a mr2 turbo.
2. Custom Front mount intercooler
3. Greddy Profac B Spec II Electronic Boost controoler.
4. Greddy Full Auto Turbo Timer
5. SDS EFI 4f Coil system with backlit display.
6. Custom 3" Exhaust system with Magnaflow Performance Tip.
7. HKS Super Sequntail Blow off Valve.
8. Haulmeter's Digitail Air/Fuel Gauge
9. Wallbro Supra Fuel Pump
10. Unorthodox Racing underdrive Pulley

so far, i beat a 3000gt LS, Turboed Prelude at stock boost, which is 9.8 PSI... 250hp to the wheels.... my mechanic beat a corvette at 18psi... 295 to the wheels. ive only had it for 4 days...

funniest **** thou.... this 240sx came up from behind me wanting to race like a mofo, i catch up: he hears the BOV, and goes "Sorry, sorry... didnt know it was turbo"

by the way, there is a wastegate or boostcontroller problem, we cant turn the boostup past 18psi, but once we do, we should get some more power out of it.

That is awesome. How long did the swap take, just to get the engine working in your car? I might have to drive down to FL for it if the guy is that good.

Woooow.....i have to post again just cuz this is such an incredibly well done swap... smile.gif

So who is your mechanic?? Is it a tuning company with a site or just somebody you know? Give us some more info in case i get the money sometime down the road to do this. biggrin.gif
Hmmm...i could stay with family down in Florida for a while, get everything swapped in and drive back home a very happy person....or just stay in florida where the weather is warm all the time to enjoy such an amazing engine...lol

Sorry, im thinking aloud.
