i just got a tire puncture on one of my tires. They're already pretty much bald so patching it would just be a waste. I'm also too broke to buy a new set of tires. My question is would it be ok to put on 215/60/16 tires on my rims. The OEM ones were 215/50/16. Info will be much appreciated

60 is too tall if you're going to run that wide. Rule of thumb is that if you're going to go taller, you have to go thinner. The contact patch has to change in order to equalize friction to what the OEM specs are.
If you want to run 60 height, run a 195 width. Personally, I'd never run any higher than 55 on a 16" rim. I am running 60 height on my 15" rims and the factory calls for 205/55/R15. So to make up for that, I am running 195 width and it works fine. Fills the wheel well a little more, but it's not too bad. Good for winter tires to have a smaller width anyway.
