I'm in need of a new alternator and when I looked up some OEM's online I found that two different kinds can fit my '95 5S-FE ST-204: one is an 80amp and the other is a 70amp. They are identical except for the amperage. Does it matter which one I use?

The 70 is OEM for manual, the 80 for auto.

they both work the same, i'd get the 80amp. My car came with an 80amp and its a manual, I replaced it with a 70amp but now Im having some power issues. Like weird stuff such as headlights suddenly dimming then coming back when I brake as if there is unsuffecient power.
