Was wondering if there should be a vacuum effect going on if I was the pull this line out?
There is air blowing out of the hose that's coming out of the valve cover but there's no air sucking in at the throttle? does this mean I have leak somewhere? the car seem to idle just fine now that I reseal the valve cover gasket. ![]() (pic taken from GetToyota) |

i think that enters the TB before the throttle plate, so you wont feel vac until you crack the throttle (IIRC)

yea, funny thing is even when i crack the throttle, there's no vacuum, so i can't suck sea foam thru there.

i cant see a pic if you posted on so im gonna guess that the hose you are talking about is the crankcase ventilation hose. there would be no vacuum on that hose. if you want to suck seafoam into the intake a good place would be the brake booster line

Positive Crankcase Ventilation hose indeed. It's meant to give the various vapours (unburnt fuel, moisture, combustion byproducts) which accumulate in the crankcase someplace to go. In the 5SFE's case, it routes them back into the combustion chambers via the intake manifold.
The vacuum line I like to use for Seafoam is the one attached to the throttle body directly above the PCV hose. This post has been edited by Galcobar: Nov 11, 2011 - 6:18 AM |

thanks, i put it thru the brake booster... or whatever hose it is on the right side of the throttle body to the firewall. it works well.
