I need some help with my gauge cluster. Bought a used cluster on here because my old one has broken tach, speedo, odo, and fuel guages. Most of the lights seemed to work, but I definitely needed a new one. So while trying to take out the old one, the center rear plug was stuck and I ended up yanking the thing out, shattering it. I installed the new gauges w/o this center plug and it doesn't seem to work. Any thoughts? I did not think that all three plugs were required to make everything work.

(Btw, it turned out that one of the connections on that center plug had burned up and melted, which is why it was stuck and why I had to yank it out. Either way it was broken.)

Um, if the plug wasn't needed, Toyota wouldn't have put it there. Reduction of costs, complicity, etc.
The melted wire may have caused your original issue.

Best bet is a junlyard or find someone parting out a car here and get that plug and a bit of the harness.
