Ah, gotcha. The power is sent down the path of least resistance and switches between wheels. When you are turning, the power usually goes to the inside wheel. Either wheel can pull the car, depending on the situation.

Lol I just got it! I won't be giving it up for a good while. That is, when I can get it away from the girlfriend. If you really are interested in having LSD, your best option is to get on eBay any look up LSD for a 2000-2005 MR2. It fits right in the S54 and is the cheapest option. And it seems you've gotten good at taking your trans off lately, so the only obstacle left is installing it.

I'm having trouble shifting into 3rd gear at high rpm. I can wide open throttle 1st and 2nd gear all the way to 7,000 rpm and then once I try to shift into 3rd gear it wont go in unless I drop the rpm to abou5 5,000 rpm. My clutch occasionally gets sticky and disengagement when leaving from first gear is very early. My gears to not grind at all.

I have changed my clutch fluid to Dot 3 about 5 months ago. So it is still semi clear. Do I need a new master cylinder or a new throw out bearing?? please help tongue.gif

I have no clutch shatter either. So I'm pretty sure my throw out bearing is fine??? New oem clutch kit has about 8,000 miles on it

or is this the answer to my problem?? http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...amp;mode=linear

Throw out bearing would make a noise when you pressed down on the pedal I would try bleeding the clutch line that would be my first step

Yea I'd bleed the clutch line again to make sure an if that doesn't work I'd start with the slave cylinder since it will be the cheapest/easiest part to change
If your throwout bearing is bad youll hear it grinding whenever your off the clutch pedal

this rebuild kit is quite cheap I'd say.

http://www.toyotapartszone.com/oem/toyota~...4311-12110.html

and rebuild kit for slave cylinder is around $15...

No need to bump this thread. You're only allowed to bump a thread once a day and since this thread has had posts today, that voids the bump.

Anyway, the answer is no. Synchromesh is gear oil. Only use Dot 3/4 brake fluid for the clutch.

I"m not sure if you guys have seen Acura RSX and 7th Gen Celica's put down wheel hp on a dyno. It seems to me that those cars are able to put down more whp due to the fact that they lose less power through their axles. yes I know the output in power of the rsx might be more than our celica's.

Even Integra DC2 put out the same whp as an SS-III. But the new RSX Type R loose less whp than the older DC2. Why is this??

Some member over on Celica tech told me it has to do with the internals of the transmission that allows more power at the crank to transfer to the axles more efficiently????

Its due to the gearing in the trans how much power you lose through the trans is determined by the gearing
The rsx has a 6speed with shorter gears than our 5speed trans
Atleast that has always been my understanding
Something like the taller the gearing the harder the motor has to work
The more power it loses
Idk its like that i beleave
Im still waiting for my celicatech account to be activated
