the title says it all. my timing was advanced some random amount, then I "corrected" it...
well, I don't like it as much now that its right.
what's a reasonable amount of advance on this motor, without going overboard?
thanks!

Just my advice, the car is not here for me to work on so I would be a fool to start spouting numbers knowing nothing of your mods, engine condition, driving conditions etc.

Whats not fun is getting overzealous with the timing and having to change a motor. Your not going to gain much power from timing on a 3sgte, my advice is to find a way to get the boost higher.

Yes idle, terminals bridged, 1000rpm

no boost, not a gte
just a ge (st202)

when i bought the thing, the people that had it before me had it advanced all the way kindasad.gif
so i brought it back a bunch, then recently got around to setting it correctly..... but i can tell the difference now.

Advance it till it knocks, then dial it back a few degrees. That being said, mine is stock.

Today I learned that I need a turbo to complete me.
