i was thinking about a couple of months ago while it was raining like hell out here in southern cali "it would be a lot smarter to have on only my fog lamps in the fog instead of having my bright ass 6000k hid's" so i was wondering if anyone has done this yet, if so can you please let me know how to do so i appreciate your time and effort.

You should be able to turn your fogs on with just your driving lights. It worked with one of the parts cars I had.
My car has the stock fogs because I got a 96+ bumper and just wired it straight to the battery with a switch and fuse |

hmmmm i wonder if it was aftermarket because on my 99 celi you need to have on the headlights to turn them on i was thinking about setting up a relay from the running lights to the fogs but i was wondering if anyone else did anything to just turn on the fogs without doing that.
-Thanks for the input tho much appreciated :-) |

basically you run it directly with a fuse and switch. thats how mine is set up but the key to mine is get an oem toyota fog switch.

yeah ive got the oem toyota fog switch already on my car along with the oem fog lamps. i think i will have to run a relay or something because i followed the wires and it somewhere ties into the headlights it goes all the way up to the fuse box so idk ill see whats cracking there thanks for the help though man i appreciate it.

depends on what relay you run it to. you might end up having to turn on something else before the fogs on. to fix your problem don't use a relay cus on a relay it relies on something else. on a direct wire and power, all it relies on is turning on the switch, which sounds like your goal.

I'd figure out where it connects to the headlights and cut that wire. Then you splice that wire into the parking lights (so you can do just parking lights and fogs) and you should be golden. Otherwise, rewire the whole thing into a relay and the parking lights. I'd never run it directly to the battery because you can cause a battery drain, and you have to remember to shut them off each time you turn off your car. Toyota's are amazing when it comes to lights and they automatically shut off when you open the door, don't ruin that lol.
![]() Doesn't look half bad while on parking lights. I use these as dusk and dawn lights instead of my headlights because I'm cool like that lol. -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S 5S-FE 190k Miles.
