 Bad ground to A/C unit |

Couple days ago my lighting of my A/C unit started flickering and then died altogether... First of all I thought that the bulbs died (most unlikely considering there are three of them and that happening at the same time is almost impossible) so I pulled the unit out today just to find out that they are all ok. I took a tester (the one with crocodile clip, not a voltmeter) and found out that the leads on the A/C board are getting power just fine. I am assuming that because of the crocodile clip is fastened directly to the chasis the fault is in the ground of the A/C unit. When I tried both leads on the board of the A/C i get zip...
 How should I go about finding the faulty ground? Does anybody know which wire is ground on the A/C orange plug?  Thanks! Quick update: something else is going on with my A/C unit. It used to blow scorching hot air now it is barely lukewarm. Also forgot to say that the LEDs inside of the buttons light up just fine... Very odd... Please help!!!
