upgrade questions??? Options

I got my celica within the last 6 months. It's a 96 st coupe. I've been putting some time into styling and now i'm thinking about power.

Before I go any further, I'm kinda new to the scene but i'm pretty sure i can do most upgrades. Just don't ask me to do the 3sgte swap, yet: don't have the expertiese or $$$$$. As you can see i have looked around a little to get some ideas but i'd like some feedback. If you could tell me how some of these ideas sound, anything you can add would be appreciated...

i've been thinking about manly 2 things for now: intake and muffler

i've seen a couple people talking about putting a civic cai - how involved is the process of getting to fit the celicas?
also i've heard that the injen short ram for the gt drops - is this true?

also i was thinking muffler for now cuz i do plan on one day getting the 3sgte and i want to wait to get a full exhaust system til then. what i was wondering - has anyone heard the magnaflows? cuz i don't want to sound like the weed-eater civics that ride around now-a-days (no offense)
