While I was at my car today I decided to make some notes on the rewire I've been working on for the past few months while I've been getting parts for my engine. Basically it's the Toyota pinout with the Autronic wire colors. Below are the details on the sensor specifics and what anyone would need if they want to attempt to wire in an Autronic EMS (I used an SM4). I can attach the calibration map that I have somewhere on my computer once I find it. You can easily run two injectors per cylinder or individual coils (or both), I have listed the details on using jetta 1.8t individual coils. The only downside is the price of the Autronic EMS and trying to find a dealer.
Specific sensors are either the bosch sensors that autronic recommends or Stock gen III 3sgte. Also this helped a little but isn't accurate for my engine. I think it's for the 2nd gen 3sgte. Some of the sensors were different than mine. You can use some of this information for wiring in other EMS systems. Sensors on the 3sgte/5sfe that aren't used on the Autronic: knock sensor 3sgte MAP sensor (Autronic SM4 has a built in MAP) o2 sensor (4 wire o2 sensor can be used but is not required) idle-up valves are optional Sensor rewire colors or pinout for 3sgte/5sfe (toyota engines mostly have the same pinout with differences in wire colors...MOSTLY) Speed sensor on trans (leave intact) IACV/ISCV pinout Pin 1. P/Y (ECU pin27) Pin 2. (+) ign switched power Pin 3. Grn/O (ecu pin42) specify this one as [inv] note: configure under swfPWM2 and select 330hz gen3 3sgte has a stiffer spring in the IACV assembly compared to similar toyota IACV styles. Does not seem to work on the gen3 3sgte, solenoid clicks on and off rapidly. I plugged my hose and disconnected it because it would be a boost leak otherwise. VSV (vacuum switching valve) or boost valve for wastegate pin1: positive fused source pin2: ground through ecu. PWM1 or PWM2. red/y or brn/w note:pins are reversible. select 9.5hz Distributor pinout (used even if individual coils are used) Pin 1. shielded white wire Autronic EMS pin 26 Pin 2. **unused** Pin 3. shielded white wire Autronic EMS pin 25 Pin 4. shielded black wire Autronic EMS pins 41, 40 (connect both together that are shielded with the white wires above) Wire shields are to be grounded TPS pinout Pin 1. Blk (gnd) Pin 2. **unused** Pin 3. Or (sweeper) Pin 4. R/W (+) Coolant temp Pink (signal) Blk (ground) 4 wire O2 sensor (optional), use under closed loop Blk (-) Blu (+) Blk (-) heater Brn (+) heater Injector wire colors (wired in firing order) 1,3,4,2 Inj output 1. P/Blk Inj output 2. O/Blk Inj output 3. Blu/W Inj output 4. Grn/W Injector power wire = Brn ---> celica injector power wire blk/O Individual ignition coils (I used 2000 Jetta 1.8t coils and mini harness from junkyard) built in transistors on each coil (so no igniter needed, connect directly to EMS) more info at this pageI've heard of other guys use s2000 Denso coils. Wired in firing order as well. Pin 1. All coils pin one is 14 AWG positive wire (ign switched +) connect together. Red/Grn on 1.8t harness. Pin 2. All coils pin two is 14 AWG signal ground to chassis. Brn wire on 1.8t harness Pin 3. All coils pin three is 18 AWG signal multiple colors, wire in firing order 1,3,4,2 Pin 4. All coils pin four is 18 AWG power ground to chassis. Brn/y wire on 1.8t harness. IMPORTANT NOTES! radiator fan control switch from the toyota ECU is Aqua/blk. Ask me questions, I'll answer if I can. It took me a long time to gather all of the data above. Plus I completely dissected my harness to look at everything and make sure I wasn't removing anything that was necessary.
