Just wondering what other people have gotten for max miles traveled on a tank of gas. Last summer when I drove across country, I was consistently around 380 miles when the gas light came on in my 95 GT, but yesterday I was surprised to see my tripometer turn over to 452 before the car reminded me I needed to fill up. Pretty impressive.

What have others gotten?

My old ST easily and consistently saw 500+ to a tank. My GT was usually 450+ before I swapped to a BEAMS and now it's back up to 500+.

Edit: I should add that I live in a basically flat area and I realize I have a slow car, so I drive it as such.

I don't know what's more impressive: that you got 460 miles before a refill or that you stayed at 60 going down the coast on the 5.

Also an update: got 492 before the light came on on my return trip today. This little car never ceases to amaze me in weird ways.

460 miles before a refill. 60 is the magic number to get good mileage. I think I was behind a truck too most of the time.

I would kill for that mileage! I have to fill up at 250 miles driving up here in Chicago. I have a cheap ebay sri that is probably contributing to the problem. I used to get 350-400 in Colorado.

I'm lucky to see 230 miles to a half tank... which is about 460 miles on ROCK BOTTOM empty. I think my ecu is detuned because of advanced ingition though.... in any case, to tell you how much air resistance makes a difference, I followed my step dad to Long Island one time and did nearly 630 miles to 1 tank. Drove from east Ohio, and didn't get gas until new jersey (filled up early, the 630 miles is what would have been if I ran it empty)
