hey guy, i have a header i wanted to install on my 94, 7a-fe, and it has 2 cats. with the new header i need to knock out the first cat. but from the engine it goes o2 sensor, cat, o2 sensor, cat, then just exhaust. i was wondering if keeping the o2 sensors in the same spot and taking out the first cat would do anything like make it run worse or anything even as little as the check engine light. im from pa, and we dont have emissions testing so im not worried about that, just the fact of re-selling it if i ever decide to, or just general concern. any advice would be great. thanks!

im guessing on the 7afe (never seen one up close) the cat is also on the header so im guessing this is what you mean by you losing the first cat? your new header should have the 02 sensor bung for it already so you should be ok. thats all you would need to change assuming you want to change all the way down. do you have pics? i may be wrong.

well the header flange and gasket meet right where the first cat goes. so in order to make the height of everything to fit, the first cat would need to be removed. i dont know if i misread your post or not, but i didnt know if this was understood. it has the o2 bung, im just not sure if anything would go wrong if i take a cat out.
