Go with the MSD if you can. It's a bit noisy but that's what you have a radio for. The Dakota Digital is annoyingly nervous and my needle is always twitching.

No radio in racecar... just the wonderful sound of open pipes blasting wonderful BEAMS audio off the outside wall smile.gif

I've been really pleased with the BEAMS tach + 3rd gen UK face on it. It really is just "plug and play." I haven't looked for a UK one on ebay, but there's been a few guys selling off their BEAMS tachs in the past year if I remember correctly! It might be a little bit more expensive, but you won't have the wiring issues and it'll match!

i was hoping to score an adapter for less...
I knew it was a long shot, but if push comes to shove that's what's gonna have to happen I suppose.

Yeah... I hadn't realized how much it would cost, honestly! The only Aussie tach is listed for $200 on ebay! And that's just for a black face if you're too particular! Crazy expensive! Sorry to fail you, man!

For the race car, a tach adapter is the only way to go. It's like $50-75 for a brand new adapter, $140 for the cheapest BEAMS a/t tach on eBay, or $200 for the m/t tach. I say tach adapter all the way.
