mazda has a recal because of their horsepower ratings in the miata and the rx8 were off by almost 30hp, kinda like false advertising

Its worse than that for Mazda - they actually agreed to buy back RX8s from people who were so upset that there car had significantly less than advertised power ratings!

lol, i did have a hard time believing that the rx8 engine made nearly as much power as the 13b(?) twin turbo

The RX8's were originally posted as 250hp, at the crank...but this was a mistake cuz those were the J-Spec cars. They soon after released 238 as the official crank HP numbers. There hasn't been a report of a 6Speed RX8 getting less than 215 at the crank yet. Which would make it 23 or less, so 30 is a bit over. The numbers people were pissed is the wheel horsepower numbers in only getting 170-190. And so people got mad and Mazda said they'd buy the RX8's back. That car is literally one of the finest machines in a while. It's perfect weight ratio makes that thing ultimate in handling. The RX8 was made for being able to do the twisties really fast...and after slowing down a bit in a corner then being able to rev it up really quick and get back to speed with guzzling too much oil and gas like the RX7 with the 13B did.

And the engines aren't very durable. I ca't imagine what they'll be like with no more variable boost and thne people controlling the boost level themselves.

And last, wow a 5k dealer markup? My dealer had a price of $19,495 and then the $500 delivery charge, so that made it 19,995. No extra markup, except the regular ones you get when buying any brand new car such as license and tax.

I dont know a lot about american cars because there aren't any in my country. But, The AWD 2000cc GT4 with 1993-94 technology, running at 14psi boost, making 255 bhp stock (JDM) with the best engine that ever came out of a factory (3S - GTE) is just about the best thing I have ever saw. The reason i mention the 1993-94 technology is to point out that the neon has 2004 technology and those late model Evos and Subs are also late model.

For once more, my complaint/question is: Why Toyota doesn't invest and make sport cars? That excuse that there is no market is bull. There seem to be a market for the Neons, Subs and Evos.

The SRT-4 has the PT Cruiser Turbo engine in it. 215hp I think. Hard to believe that it can haul so much a$$ for only 215. Wonder how long they actually last though. We stupid americans make em powerful, yet fragile.
