I wouldn't worry about the color of the air filter. its not like you can actually see where its located |

Its also a K&N so color options aren't available.

speedtoe do u recommend a heat resistant paint... like a spray paint when you paint the intake?

Yeah, I would use some kind of a ceramic based paint. And get something thats at least a little oil and fuel resistant if you can.
