Hi Guys,

I've been lurking on the forums for a while and thought it was time to finally introduce myself and my Celica.

Anyway, my name's Bill and I live in Sydney, Australia... I've had my Celica for a few months now, it's a 1999 Blue SX-R (ST204) and I'm it's second owner.

I've uploaded a few photos to my profile.

I've got a decent amount of mechanical knowledge and know how due to owning and maintaining a motorbike (1988 Honda CBR250R) which I'm currently rebuilding an engine for and doing another complete restoration of a 1989 model. But I completely understand that a car is a ****load more complex.

So far the only things I've done the Celica are: New spark plugs, ignition leads and installing clear side indicators and I've had the oil and oil filter done by a mechanic, along with a quick checkup to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with the car that I didn't find.

There's a few things I want to do soon and if you have any advice, that would be appreciated.

I want to get a new stereo, I'm thinking of getting the Parrot Asteroid head unit and replacing all the speakers. Any suggestions on decent speakers that I can fit without any big modifications?

Then, of course there's the performance mods I would love to do, but I don't really know anything worthwhile since I've got the 5S-FE under the hood and I don't want to spend much money, but I was thinking maybe a cold air intake. A turbo or supercharger is out of the question because I'm still on a restricted licence.

The only other thing is that I need to change my brake pads soon, what pads do you guys suggest?

Also, I'm getting my new number plates tomorrow, so I'll get some photos up once I get them on.

Anyways, Thanks in advance for any advice and I look forward to getting involved a bit more on the forums

Thanks guys, I got my new plates on today, uploaded another photo to my profile... I managed to get ST 204 as my plates smile.gif I was surprised they weren't taken.

I just pulled out my rear seats so I can start working on installing speakers this weekend and I ordered a head unit from overseas (Parrot Asteroid) which I should have in a few weeks.

I just need to figure out what speakers to get I'm thinking of squeezing some 6x9s in the front doors and changing the tweeters and rears as well.

lol... nah I think the company Parrot, is french... The head unit runs a custom version of the Android operating system, so it will work nicely with my Android phone.
