I didn't even yell at her... Which is rather unlike me as I typically yell and be a general douche to everyone who does something stupid. I was just glad it wasn't the MR2, as that would have been totaled. I talked to my detail shop and they recommended an auto body shop near me. I'll grab my camera tomorrow when I go out to my parent's house to tow the car and I'll upload those tomorrow.

...Only got 5 miles on those KW's. And I've only made one car payment. Sigh...

Went out to get the car towed today. Brought my camera and snapped a bunch of pictures... and proceeded to leave the camera on the table.

Got the insurance stuff ironed out - I spoke with their insurance rep and they accepted liability and are sending out an appraiser to look at the car. I had it towed to a shop near me that is Lexus/Mercedes/Audi/etc. certified and their line-up outside looked to be pretty good, so I feel it is in good hands. They quoted it at just a bit over $3,000 off of a simple visual inspection, but it will likely go up as they start dismantling the front end. Once it is all said and done I will have a few dealers give me an estimate of diminished value and will write a letter to the people's insurance company asking for them to pay me X amount.

Until then, I am making $25 a day until I get the car back.

frown.gif Well, like you said, it's a good thing it wasn't the MR. People in big vehicles just don't see our low cars, and women specifically it seems. I've almost been backed into tons of times when trying to leave parkinglots by big dumb trucks that have no purpose in the city, but rather look to be better at home on a FARM.

My paint chipping on the front bumper is from a dumb asshat who backed into me and then took off, spiderwebbing the paint. I was too shocked to look at the plate and just accepted the fact that it would eventually peel, which it is. frown.gif

Good luck dude. It hurts to see one of my dream cars get "run over" so early.

Got a call yesterday saying the car was done. I couldn't get in before they closed so I went today. First thing I notice is the driver's side turn signal is scratched up - likely the original part. I then go over the car and find a bunch of scratches on the front bumper and a scuffed trim piece around the same scratched turn signal. They sanded out the turn signal and are ordering the trim piece that is scuffed and will be fixing the scratches when I bring it back for them to install the trim.

Close up of the scratches:

That sucks terribly... At least she did the right thing and owned up to it. Well, hopefully you maintained your dignity and didn't fall to the ground in the fetal position rocking back and forth.

^ Seriously. How can one be so careless to paint a bumper, then scratch the piss out of it putting it on?

Suppose I haven't updated this in a while.

I got the car the first time on Nov 2, and dropped it off again on the 5th. Finally they got it right and I took it back on the 7th. Since then I have just been driving it to and from work. I installed a Moddiction Textured Anvil shift knob in black which really adds to the shift feel without looking super flashy... as I like my OEM+ style.

Still waiting to get money back from the accident, but I am saving up for the AVO turbo kit. I have met Paul Hansen (AVO USA) several times since I purchased my FR-S and my tuning shop, Drift Office is working with him on R&D and selling the kits. I suppose it pays to have the connections. smile.gif

I stopped by Drift Office yesterday just to chitty chat and found that Bob (the owner of DO) has been working on an ecutek tune for N/A, which was showing global 10+hp and 10+tq gains. Well Bob was feeling like a nice guy, so he had me pull my car onto the dyno and he flashed my ECU over to his ecutek stage 1 tune and told me merry Christmas..... And this is how this car should have come from the factory. So much livelier! With just my AVO intake and panel filter I am now at 181whp and ~150wtq.

Long awaited bump, I suppose.

Dropped the car off at Drift Office this afternoon for some.... work.

Got a call from the owner saying that the shop that did the body work on my car when it was hit had epoxied the bumper on to fix a fitment issue I had. They had to take a razor blade and hack through the epoxy to get the bumper off. I will be following up with the body shop to pay me for new bumper brackets.

But yeah, car is in the shop. Hope to get it back on Saturday.
