I have a set of 4 dorman wheel lug locks that I bought from AutoZone. I use one on each wheel. My wheel studs are all stock btw. The front two I never had a problem with. They come off and tighten just fine. But when it came to the rear ones. They don't really tighten. The furthest I can get it in is to where it's almost flush with the wheel. Once I get there the lug will just simple spin and won't tighten any further or loosen any more. It'll just keep spinning and spinning. This is on both sides btw. I took it in to America's Tire to get both removed. I asked them to check the threads and they said it looks good. Might just be the Lug Locks. So I decided to go to AutoZone and buy another set to replace the old ones. Once I put them on. The same exact thing happened again. Now I just took it in AGAIN and got the removed AGAIN. So I'm riding with one less lug nut on both my rear wheels.
My question is. Our rears and fronts studs are the same thread size and everything right? I mean the stock wheel lugs fits fine on all four wheel studs. So yea. Wtf? Right? Sounds impossible. It's a pain in the ass. I don't want to put another lug lock on until I know what the problem is. Don't want to spend 20 dollars on each lug to be force removed. Specs: 1997 Toyota Celica GT Stock Studs and Hub Riding on 7gc GTS Rims The product I used were dorman. It was the Mag Seat Style one.
