Welcome to the site! Be sure to post pictures of your car. Where are you from in Illinois?

You'll need the S54 transmission, starter, master/slave cylinders, clutch line, new brake and clutch pedal, flywheel and flywheel bolts, clutch, axles, shift cables, shift assembly, shift boot, shift bezel, reverse light plug, and depending on what year your car is you'll need a new ECU as well. I'm sure there are some things I missed, and those who have actually done the conversion can chime in and answer.

Heres a list off the top of my head of things that I've bought:

-S54 transmission (w/ clutch disk, p/pt, flywheel, shifter cables & slave)
-Master
-Soft line
-Soft-Master hardline
-Shifter assembly
-Boot
-Knob
-Boot trim
-3 quarts of 75/80w90 gear oil
-Clutch tool (20 spline, 1.06"; I couldn't find an exact fit one, so I bought an adjustable one from Napa)
-Lots and lots of electrical supplies (I made my own harness)
-Motor mounts (I changed them out while was at it because w/ the GT, the motor will be floating; if you don't want to change, only the driver side mount is different, but you can take a grinder and cut off the extra bracket)
-Lots of other misc.

All and all I'm about $1200 into it but I had to drive up to PA to pick up the tranny.
And to think I coulda just gotten another auto for $350 laugh.gif

Its fun, its frustrating, and it requires a lot of patience, but I'm glad I'm doing it.

Also, toyodiy.com is your best friend for finding part numbers for those last minute trips to Toyota tongue.gif

^This .... or, if your especially attached to your current car (like me), do what I did (though I haven't actually done the actual swap yet). Buy a decent manual 6gc (for a little more than you would buy all the parts for), then swap the parts between the two cars. Then you can sell the "new" auto car and basically make your money back, or keep it as a DD and park your baby.

Well theres 4 possibly different main ways the swap can go.

*ST->Pre-96
*ST->Post-96
*GT->Pre-96
*GT->Post-96

And then after that you have even more different ways the swap can go with wiring and removal of parts and so on.

So there is going to differentiation between the swap details. Not to mention, a lot of stuff people list is optional and not necessary for just a core swap.

I bought everything for a core, and for everything else I want, I'm making it. Saves money, time trying acquire parts, and spared me enough change to get all new mounts.

OEM parts: Toyota, 6GC B/S/T, Ebay, other assorted internet sites.
Aftermarket parts: O'Rileys, Advance, AutoZone, Misc. autoparts stores, 6GC B/S/T, Ebay, other assorted internet sites. I've even made a few stops at Lowes for parts too.
