Just looking for some opinions on the 3sgte flywheel.

I have the OEM one, should I resurface, or purchase new lightened aftermarket? Does resurfacing cause issues with the clutch disc later on?

My goals are not crazy power, I've even purchased a "OEM" feel clutch. I just don't want to have to deal with the clutch or its components for quite some time after install.

What do you ladies and gents recommend would be the best route for long duration? I understand alot of it comes down to the driver, but that is not what I'm asking =)

Getting it resurfaced it fine. It's usually about a $50 to $60 job. You get it resurfaced so that you don't have issues with it wearing unevenly.
Whereas a new lightweight flywheel would be upward of $300.

Defiantly liking the price of the resurface option vs. new aftm

My concern is not knowing the times this flywheel has been resurfaced. Not even sure if that is a valid concern, I guess just something I've read but never really confirmed. Basically, how many times can they get done...or am i just placing invalid concern =P

Ah the other thing I forgot to mention. When I got this engine set the clutch was rusted pretty good onto the flywheel. Have not checked for pits or anything.

From what I know, getting it resurfaced should be fine. Post a picture of it though so we can all see the actual condition

Ive had my 3s flywheel resurfaced twice since ive had it an both times worked fine. Ive had some clutch issues (non flywheel related) and ordered an F1 lightweight flywheel and it feels great and drives great too, only cost me ~175$ new. i went with a new flywheel because the surface area was already getting low on the oem flywheel from multiple resurface jobs.

Pis tho would help like Mike said^
