Hi everyone,
I have a 95 JDM GT Convertible. Bought it a few years ago, and dealer fitted a brand new roof. I only drive it in summer, not very often, but always with roof down. There are two small wear patches developing on each side of the roof in same place on each side, and they seem to be developing quite quickly even though I dont drive it that often. I consulted a car trimmer who does roofs, and he said it is a design fault with the mechanism, and that there is some tab in the mechanism that sticks out when the roof folds down and this pokes out and wears the holes. Is there some kind of adjustment that can stop this, and is it a known problem ? or some kind of fix eg putting a patch inside to stop the rubbing or something over this "tab" Once saw another celica convertible in the supermarket and it also had the holes in the same place. |
