Removed my stock slide on stainless exhaust tip the other day, and want to replace with longer new one. The factory exhaust pipe has raised areas or bumps in it where the stock tip slid on and for lack of a better word kind of snapped into place over them. That being said the exhaust pipe is 2.5 inches in diam., and I will be putting a 2.5 inch tip over it. Because of the bumps on the pipe, I expect it to be a really tight fit. If it does go on really tight, with no movement afterwards do I really need a clamp or u-bolt to secure it? I am guessing I will need a thick piece of cardboard, and rubber mallet to get it all the way on. Thanks
