I would like to solve my fuel starvation problem during my races and have been looking into a Fuel Surge tank.

This is all new to me and I just started researching last night so stick with me!

I am not sure if the benefits would outweigh the cost of the mod, and if I should just suck it up and run with a full tank as opposed to 1/3 tank and just solve the problem that way. BUT I would really like to keep as much weight off that rear axle as much as possible.

general setup

so other than the various lines and fittings, a bulk of the cost would be the external fuel pump and the surge tank.
Reading around I found a thread from czwalga about tapping into the 3SGE fuel rail so that he may install FPR gauge

http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=84687

I didnt see a solution on there for the GE's issue but i figured the 5S might have a similar problem and thought that this surge tank or one similar could solve that issue by just eliminating the stock FPR on the rail and moving it to the surge tank

thoughts on what I should do?
