Yo,

Im sure everyone has seen the tubular manifolds for the 3S-GTE engines, (2nd and 3rd Gen)
I have one, but currently i been working on my engine and took it off....
What yall think about em, i was having a lot of heat under this bonnet because of it, but is it worth it to have it....or shud i just go back to the stock one with heat shield....(got 270 whp, but never dynoed with the stock one on)

Anyone else used both and have any criticism?

I am sure there has been comments on this forum who say that the standard manifold is good for 500BHP. So it might be a waste of time with 270BHP? Be interesting to see if anyone has done any before and after dynos to prove either way if they are worth while.

It is very good for a stock manifold, according to a lot of MR2 knowledgeable people.

Personally, tubular is for both eye candy and big turbos. BIG turbos. You won't gain much from a tubular on a ct-26, especially no the eBay one which WILL crack unless massively braced and even then the quality is very shabby.

good gains can be had with a properly designed and executed manifold, however, 99% of the manifolds you see out there are pure garbage, especially the ebay ones.
a properly designed and built manifold will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 800+$, with a really nice one going upwards of 1400$ (using 321 stainless, slip joints, ect)
