The S54 Transmission:


General info:

Type of Transaxle: S54-02A/06A/6D Manual
Notes: Open differential (A), Helical LSD (D)
Type of Engine: 3S-FE, 4S-FE, 5S-FE, 3S-GE
Models: ST202, ST202C, ST203, ST204, ST206, ST207
A triple-cone typo synchromesh mechanism is used in the 2nd gear to improve the shift feeling characteristics, this helps to reduce the shifting effort.
A reverse synchromesh mechanism is used to suppress gear engagement noise in reverse gear shifting.


Gear Ratio:

1st Gear: 3.285
2nd Gear: 1.960
3rd Gear: 1.322
4th Gear: 1.028
5th Gear: 0.820
Reverse Gear: -3.153
Differential Gear ratio: 4.176(JP, USA, Aust), 3.736(G.C.C), 3.944(UK/EUR)


Maintenance

Oil Capacity: 2.6L (2.7 US qts, 2.3 Imp. qts)
Oil Viscosity: SAE 75W - 90
Oil Grade: API GL-3, GL-4 or ATF DEXRON II
