I plan on installing a Google Nexus 7 2 in my car after i've finished with a friends car so i have a full infotainment centre in there. done plenty of research and have come up with a couple of design ideas for it (but that is a story for another time) one of the things i want the tablet in there for is so i can connect my phone or tablet via bluetooth to the OBD and get basic digital speedo/mpg/other crap. this where i am having a problem.
this may sound like a silly question and probably get dismissed very quickly. its also a long shot... my OBD port is located under the hood. i am pretty sure it is an OBD1 port. when i put the connector in (via a lexus diagnostic tool extension cable) i cant close the hood. is it possible to relocate the obd port (fairly easily) into the car? or better yet... can i change the port to the obd 2 port and install it somewhere in the car? has it been done before? insight on the subject would be very helpful. p.s i may need the top half of the centre console trim for a RHD lol This post has been edited by MisterRay: Jun 12, 2014 - 6:59 PM --------------------  "whoever said progress was a slow process... was probably talking about me" |
