So this darn axle just will not come out on the left side of the st205. i thought i knew all the tricks of the trade from work but i soon learned that nothing was working. ive tried pry bars, hammers with pry bars, little bars big bars and just about every angle i can get at seeing as i can only get the car about 3 feet off the ground. im wondering if any of your magicians have any tips!

Rent a slide hammer from advance auto. Buy a cv axle adapter from AutoZone if necessary. It will pop out in 10 sec

That's the one. Watch you Knuckles though. Weight distribution is also important as is what's behind you. I used one once and ended up laying on top of a Brake caliper that was behind me

You position it on the axle the slide the hammer in and secure the nut

that adapter is designed to fit on the axle stub, not the tulip. you will most likely will not be able to get it into place while it's attached to the slide hammer. I usually squeeze the adapter between the tulip and transmission before coming in and threading the slide hammer onto it. A more labor intensive but sure-fire method involves lowering the subframe about 2 inches to open up some extra space

i know another way in case u dont get it out. fairly simple.
if u have the right side axle out, simply grab a long screw driver flat head, thing 1 and slide it thru the hole make sure its contacting the other side and just hit it with a hammer and it will pop right out. |

Could not get it out, I'm just going to trailer it to work. No sense to wasting time on a garage floor when I have everything you can ask for at a dealership lol. Btw future gt4 owners the axle removal tool does not work. Will not fit in any way shape or form. Axles are much bigger than what opening of the tool.

Make a noose of steel cable and attach it to the slide hammer by a couple nuts and a smaller loop. Pull it taught and give it a couple hard slides, it should pop it.
