you can mod your currnet trasmmison and have a 6th gear added... if you go to a good tranny shop they should be able to do that for you... it might runner you anywere from 500 - 1200 bucks ... but it can be done..

Which power will support the C52 tranny at max?
Cause I'm about to rebuild engine to turbo it and my target is about 200HP to wheels. The question is:
Will the C52 support it?
Will the axles support it?
If not which would be the optimal solution?

Thanks wink.gif

those axles are made to support a high-reving 160-170hp figures, so i would thing they could handle it. If not, the AE101 GZE axles would for sure. They can thake the torque, I'd imagine.

They will 'fit' but might not be long enough... or too long...

Colin(Xpander) used the AE101 axles on his car, and said they required no modification.

if you want boost.... then don't waste the money on rebuilding a c52... try to get ahold of a JDM e51 tranny..... i believe the only mounting difference is the rear mount is a bit shorter..... oh well....

but the e51 came with the GZE, is good for higher HP (and if you can source that then i'm sure you can source the axles as well) plus it has a factory LSD in it...

if not, rebuild the c52 with the ae92 corolla GTS final drive.... it's different than the 93+ c52's....

Well, I can't remember if he used the AT200 C52 tranny. I believe he might've used the AE101 C52.

And Ray, I know I'm probably wrong on this, but with the six speed from the AE111, it seems like gears would be shorter, which would be nicer and provide quicker acceleration for a small engine that doesn't provide much torque or power until the RPMs are up high. wink.gif

Apparently the 6 speed is slower for quarter mile racing, since you have to change gears more. But on the track the 6 speed is better.

Back to the original question, you could always get a 6 speed box from a RS 200 altezza. These have the beams 3SGE fitted. However then you would have to convert your car to rear wheel drive....
