Does it matter if you have a manual or auto, as far as buying a starter? I have a 5spd so do I need a starter from a 5spd car, or can it be from an auto?

Thanks

well im gona put my clause in here, im about 95% sure that its a general part not dependant on the tranny. Its just a general part like the valve cover or something.
