Alright, I'm considering sometime soon to either retint my windows, or get my windows tinted. The tint on there now is only on the back quarter windows and a strip across the front. I want to remove all that, tint the side windows, the back quarter windows, and possibly the hatch window as well, but not the front. First off, is there a how to on window tinting and if not, could anyone gimme some suggestions? And secondly, if you all think it'd be better to get my windows professionally done due to difficulty of tinting your own window, about how much is the average cost? I think the law here only permits 35% tint as the darkest and I have a friend who got it done for like $185 or something, but I just wanted some ideas on what you guys did. Thanks guys/gals.

I would suggest getting it professionally done. It's extremely hard to do yourself without getting bubbles in the tint and messing it up. It's just something that should generally be left to professionals.

Get it done. It is possible to do it youself but it's not worth it. Shop around for price. I recommend finding a shop that uses llumar tint. It costs a little more but the quality is worth it. I won't put anything else on my cars.

It's not that hard to do, so just about anyone can do it. I did my own on my last car but had it done professionally on my celi. I paid $220.

man, it's not too hard. You only have to have the passion to do it and make it look good. I save my money for other things. Spent 40 dollars for the things I need on my tinting. You should get the rear window tinting for the rear window. It's so much easier. I have little bubbles visible, and you have to look really close to notice them. NO bubbles in the rear due to the awesome rear window tint. I have 20% in the driver and passenger window, and the rear. back two windows are 2.5%!!! got all my stuff at Autozone.
THe key thing is take your time and make sure the window is so clean you can eat off of it. Use a credit card to squeeze the tint onto place. Hatchback is easy to do cause you can pop the back up and easily apply the tint. but hey, of you wanna spend 100-220 dollars on it, be my guest. My tinting looks great. Dont make creases and bubbles. |
