I've said it once, i'll say it again. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH. I'm not the website @sshole but these questions are the easiest to find answes to. Do a search and try alltrac.net.

To answer your question, you use a 5sfe disc with the 3sgte PP and FW

i am cool, just tired of the same questions being asked over and over again by people who are to lazy to hit the search button.

I still answered his question, not like I was an ass AND unhelpful.

Just really irks me when ppl wanna do a swap but not the searching.

im with Super, these questions are not the hard questions... this has been answered a million time and the search would wield everything and more he needed to know.

And you should know alot more about a swap before going through with it.

And to ray's comment, not all the stock GT trannies blow out ya know, some work just fine wink.gif

That all depends on how you drive... I will never put a 5sfe tranny on mine unless I blow out my good trans and I need something quick to keep the car running.

BTW 94redceli if you need a trans let me know I got 4 of em right now that I wont be using and need to get rid of wink.gif

Yeah, I got him the motor and i am doing the wiring harness for him.

Don't forget to get a Toyota 5SFE trans throw out bearing, they fit better than aftermarket ones.

the 5sfe trans works fine. people think it's a weak little tranny but it's pretty tough. the problem with it is with a 3sgte, 1st gear is basically rendered useless unless you like slipping the clutch or spinning the tires.

The gear ratio is pretty damn close to the e-154 and e-153 trannies which are the trannies used in actual factory 3s-gte productions meaning first gear is pretty much the same of the s54 (gt tranny) and the turbo mr2 tranny (e-153). as the gears go on the e-153 gets a little more agressive.

And I have driven a car with the GT tranny and 3s-gte and first gear was not useless.

3sgte flywheel? it's bolted to your stock tranny, so wouldn't you be using the 5sfe flywheel? This may need to be redrilled though... Hmmm, I may be mistaken.
