 Mystery Missing Piece From AC Control Unit |

The temperature knob fell off of my control unit so I pulled it out and picked up all the pieces that fell below it. I think I found everything and got the knob back in but now there is a random piece with no apparent place. Anyone know where it goes?
 Heres all the pieces I pulled out.
