I'm still using PhotoBucket for the moment, seems I've been given an exception for some reason and I'm not going to question it. Unless it has to do with the fact my account is as old as PhotoBucket itself. Flickr or TinyPic have also been around for ages, seems most are going to Flickr.

I can't even tell if my account is working anymore on photobucket as the site doesn't load correctly (except for the adds), and then the browser lags lol.

I've had a strong dislike of Photobucket the last couple of years but I've simply carried on because so many of my pictures were already on there. This gives me a good excuse to finally make the switch as soon as my links are all broken. I have a feeling that this will be the end of Photobucket.

any ideas on the best way to rebuild threads after transferring the photos to another service?

(this of course could have been avoided if the photos were hosted on 6GC like alot of other forums do)

no way to fix this, either photobucket changes policy, or thats it bro...

Well that or you give in to the ransom or painstakingly change out all the images after re-uploading them. You can click on their "no 3rd party" generic image and it'll take you to the actual image in the album so you know what it was, but it'd be a huge undertaking. I suspect PhotoBucket folds soon after everyone leaves and they have even less money than when they started this bs.

I probably won't be bothered to go back and fix my project thread but I will reupload and replace pictures in any how-to or informative threads I've made.

Only downside is that it doesn't size down to 1024x768 for you (which is nice for posting on forums). The upside is 56k warning doesn't exist anymore.

for some reasons, some users still have the function, and some don't.

I had 2 accounts, I just deleted 1 acct. will wait to see what develos, if they revert. if not, I will delete my main acct. and that will be the end of it..

I've had mine for years with no issues... It does appear to be dying, although I don't know the details behind its death.

First FB turns this place into a ghost town, now photobucket ruined the only remaining draw

I just logged in to both of my photobucket accounts and downloaded all of my albums, then re-uploaded to my Imgur account in a hidden album.

Seriously, photobucket can get bent... More like PhotoPhucket.

Ended up going to Flickr since they have a mobile app for uploading and embedding links is fairly easy, though a little more finicky than what PB was. Plus Flickr is owned by Yahoo now so I doubt they'll pull a stunt like PB any time soon.

Flikr or imgur. I'll probably be moving to Flikr pretty soon myself.

I've been using my facebook as a host though on other forums, but for whatever reason, this forum isn't FB friendly when it comes to using photos linked from there. :\

Photobucket won't even exist in 2 years anyway.

I just downloaded all my pics from Photobucket and moved them to Flickr...

yeah I'm about to do the same. it's might have to wait until next month when I will have more free time.

btw, registered the celica, for its first track event. Barber motorsports, aug 3. I did 90 MPH today, wow. it got there quick. (on a empty parking lot). wonder what surprises the track will bring. There will be no photos, thanks to photuchuck it

I'm still going to want to access it. Once I'm done with my 1mz swap, and my 3mz swap, I'll probably have to do a 2gr swap.

Only problem is, how do you rebuild threads. I mean, it would be okay if you could see what pictures where posted where/at what time. but without seeing what you've posted, its really a crapshoot of which photo goes where.

I'm just going to leave the links broken, until someone comments on something they actually want to see out of my threads.

I donlt think that's very likely though, considering how dead we've been in the last few years.

so I downloaded all my pics today, and the downloads are missing some pics. will not do every pic in the folder, oh well. happy to announce im closing the acct today. photobucket can go suck

Running two or more HDD's in RAID 1? I currently pay for 1 TB of Google Drive ($10/month). I need to set up a RAID 1 setup at my house to save some money in the long run.

The idea is that they will still have the potential to generate ad revenue off of your photos. Delete your account and take that away from them.

They just sent me an email that my account was whatever cause I was using 3rd party. Uh you restricted it a month ago and I deleted the account a week ago. They really got their **** together. I fear for anyone who paid the ransom!

I understand that, but if things revert (which photobucket most likely will after all the backlash) and the photos do come back online for 3rd party hosting, you guys are just ruining this site more by deleting your photos and breaking more links. I know the forum is slowly dying out, but this just might kill it altogether..

It sucks that no one was able to backup the site before this all happened to save what we could and possibly have it in PDF form or something. Still a lot of info in text, but pictures help a lot.

it does not matter anymore. it wont revert. they will charge less money, which I wont pay.
