Full Version: Spacers reduced by 2mm?

This past 2 days I've gotten my wheels on, and all 4 fenders rolled.
*Car is lowered to fitment of 225/45 tires.
*Perfect height and not too low for me.

*Wheel specs are 225/45/17 on 17x9.5 with 32 offset.*
Fronts didn't clear the brake caliper and rear was scraping the coil over springs.

*Added 5mm spacer on all 4's, fronts cleared the brake caliper, rear cleared the spring.*
After this, I started getting tire rubbing only on the Passenger Rear just over small dips n bumps on the road,
just barley scratching it but with the wheel spinning at 30-65mph, sounds so dramatic and horrible.

*switched rears from 225/45 to 215/45*
This cleared all the rubbings issues and lets me road dive without issues, but now I got a good little wheel gap, and I'm not liking the stretch look, missing the 225/45.

*Current Setup
-Fronts 17x9.5 225/45/17 with 5mm Spacer Offset=27
-Rears 17x9.5 215/45/17 with 5mm Spacer Offset=27
*Also no alignment yet.

Before I get my alignment, I want to know if I took off the 5mm Spacers and added a 3mm all around instead would this clear?
I want to add the 225/45 back on the rears and only changed it because I had work that night and didn't want to risk my daily.

The new setup would be:
-Fronts 17x9.5 225/45/17 with 3mm Spacer Offset=29
-Rears 17x9.5 225/45/17 with 3mm Spacer Offset=29
and then alignment.

Anyone have thoughts or experiences?

How far did you roll your rear fenders?

I ran a set of 18x7 +46 with 215/40/18 on mine years ago with a 25mm spacer to flush me up. Effective offset: +21

I was already rolled, but had some rubbing still... I found I had to roll the front side of the rear fenders, all the way to the side skirt. This solved my problem.

Maybe you're not rolled far enough forward around the arch.

Just checked the rear and yeah it’s just the top middle section rolled when going down the arch it does fold back up,
But that area clears the tires just fine, I can see the linear marks on the old tires and it’s coming from the top. It looks like the fender is sitting on the tire but really it’s curving over it. I’m thinking of adding just a little bit of camber to the rears and hope it won’t look too bad.
