Interview with lagos

Starting with a stock '98 GT, Lagos has built his car up to the street menace that it is today. The Spearco intercooler peaks out from behind the ST205 bumper, while a GT-Four hood covers the JDM turbo powerplant. Boosting at 14 PSI and bathed in black, this car is a perfect example of a dream turned to reality.

1. When, why, and how did you first acquire your Celica?

My original plan was to buy a 7th gen GT automatic. I went as far as sitting down at the dealer and talking about the paper work. But, while i was doing my research, i realized that i can get a 6th gen for a lot less, and it looks a million times better! so the search began...

In January of 2000 i found a 98 GT with 30,000 miles. The car was fully loaded and looked brand spankin new. My test drive consisted of me trying to drive the car around in circles in the parking lot, because i had never driven a manual car before.

2. What were your original plans for the car? Have they changed since?

After i bought the car, i quickly began searching the internet for more info about it. I came across a few pics of modified 6th gens, and dreamed of my car one day looking like that. Little did I know that in 3 years my car would be as modified as it is today.

I started out as a member of celica.net. One day i saw coomers post about a new site he started that was 6th gen specific. From that day on, i joined and have been here since.

6gc.net is really a great place. i have met so many great people on here, that have even become good friends in real life. you cant ask for anything more!
