Daniel Daniel Daniel..... Your going to yell at me for going with a 1m or 3m? when we both know you went ahead and got a beams? or 3.... lol
alot more people have done beams than v6s, but in the end i know your just tempting me to sink my teeth into a project that has already crossed my mind multiple times until i continuously think about how much harder the wiring will be along with other numerous problems i'm sure to encounter considering itd be the first of its kind (; i'm not going to lie, if i lived within a fair distance from smaay, i would be alot more confident in attempting it especially knowing that jeff could aways come give me a hand with the beast if needed, but living all the way across the country with not too much help? i think i'll take the road that has been slightly more traveled (; especially considering i'll only have a couple months to undergo on the project since i plan on doing it during the summer while i drive my camaro. then it will be back to daily driving duties! only thing i haven't read up on too much at all yet is how well the 1m and 3m handles boost... anyone care to shed some light ? -------------------- NOVAKx17

the 1MZ has a TRD supercharger. there are guys on solaraguy.com making over 350HP with it with stock internals. i plan on developing a SC kit for my car myself. my biggest argument for the MZ engine, you can get parts for it. finding parts for a BEAMS is another story

what are you thinking of along the lines of SC?
i know its going to be quite the ways away but as you know i was going to get your 5s kit, until the mz idea finally sunk into my head, so depending on what kit you make i'll be looking into it as well.... but can you elaborate on why the mz series don't like turbo? oh , and after i buy my engine, i'm going to ask you to fab up a mount for me if you don't mind brother This post has been edited by NOVAKx17: Feb 3, 2013 - 3:18 AM -------------------- NOVAKx17

The V6 with two cylinderbanks would require twin turbos or some elaborate exhaust system. There is little room on the rear bank with the steering and axle, or in the front with the radiator. I4s and I6s conveniently have a lot of free space for a turbo to sit beside them This post has been edited by Special_Edy: Feb 4, 2013 - 10:58 AM |

Smaay, I looked at your build thread it's very nice. I have to say I disagree with no room for a turbo though. You could move the radiator forward, cut and weld what you have too. Play around with different radiator sizes and thickness's. Not ideal or even saying you should do it, but it could definitely be done.
If only the 2mz was more available i'd consider using it. 2.5l would fit into my class. This post has been edited by czwalga: Feb 5, 2013 - 9:08 AM -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

What's in these IS250's I keep seeing?
I bet a KLZE would fit in there nicely but that's too much work for an extra .5 liter |

2mzfe would be nice. has a higher power band. unique yes, they are hard to come by. it'll be lighter than the 1mzfe and gearing would be better matched to an s54 over the 1mzfe. would probably sound better than a 1mzfe

Ive been reading though posts and it doesnt look like anyone has swapped in a 2MZFE, Im thinking of doing that im not power hungry just want something unique am I wasting my time? do what you want, don't let people tell you different. If you have the capabilities. I went different route. I went 2grfe. many people did not agree with this, and I got some negative comments. but if I had to do it again, I would not hesitate twice. that is the engine that I want for all my celicas. low maintenance, no turbo. parts available everywhere. expensive, yes.. but after that is just fun for me... -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL
If you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in 2grfe Swapped... Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here...
