Just because 2 of those 3(soon to be 3/3) make more torque than both your s2000 and is250 combined doesn't mean you should hate Scoot.

you need all that torque to pull around all the weight that those 2 (soon to be 3) fat pigs have.

Over the long weekend I repaired both of the rear quarter windows on my 98 convertible, installed new 8" front woofers, made a custom wiring harness for an aftermarket amp (yet to purchase) for those woofers, repaired the rear defroster, replaced a few burnt out bulbs, and sort of patched the rear window (we will see how it lasts). Still more work to do before winter comes.

I'd like a first gen Celica, but then I'd be highly tempted to use the motor out of the Firebird in it. That'd be a hellacious car.

I don't see how people put up with rust, especially on something that's not an antique.

Sand, lots of sand, that's our solution for when it snows in Hell.

So have someone else supposedly interested in the Firebird but I'm not holding my breath any more.

Well then I'd be back to square one figuring out a transmission among other things. I need a shop with a lift and an assistant, then I could get things done. I guess I'll just give it away and not buy a car, not like I go much of anywhere these days anyway.

Almost forgot, I do have access to a shop and an assistant. Visited my father this past weekend for Labour Day and he's the manager of the service department at the dealership my brother also works at, and he said I could use the shop one Saturday to replace the transmission. So it's just a matter of finding a good used transmission and a way of getting it there since it's about 25 miles away. Brother has a '00 Durango 5.9 4x4, so have something to tow it just need a dolly or trailer. I'd imagine should be able to get the borked one out and the hopefully not borked one in within a few hours having a lift and transmission jack.

Even then there's just so much crap to do that I don't have the energy or ability to do anymore.

Well just had someone drop by and showed them the car, he took my name and number so I dunno. Most promising so far since he actually came to the door and wanted to look it over better. Apparently he has a friend with a shop so I guess we'll see.

Congrats, hopefully your firebird saga comes full circle.

Today I am looking for the next car for my indulgence. So far I've seriously thought about a few cars:

Another Celica (more difficult to find one that will carry for another 5 years)
3rd gen Supra (Too heavy, unreliable)
Civic (too many out there, excellent vehicles but I don't enjoy the way people use them)
Fit (I really don't like 4 door cars, but it's undeniably a useful car, albeit a bit boring)
CR-Z (I actually really like this car, although their should have been no reason not to include the back seats for america)
bmw 128i (for entry level luxury it's still more expensive than I perceive it to be, but for rwd manual straight six fun it looks promising)
sentra se-r (very difficult to find a good one)

Today I am seriously considering an RSX. So far I've looked into several good prospects. What I like about the RSX's out here in San Jose is that the people who own them fall into very distinct categories, the guy who has owned it forever and used it as a weekend/nice DD and treated it right or the guy who modded it out like crazy and vtec yo.

This makes it easier to distinguish the one's treated roughly to the ones treated with respect.
