a while back, i contaced a guy that sells motor mount inserts on mr2oc, about making some for our 6th gens. i figured it would be a great upgrade for anyone who has a gt or a swap. i got the first set of inserts a few weeks ago and instaled them this past weekend. they fit great and a nice upgrade over the stock mounts. you notice a lot more throttle response, smoother clutch engagement, as well as shifting, and you feel more connected with the engine. it should also greatly reduce wheel hop and help with traction becuase the motor wont rock back and forth as much as it does with the stock mounts. the other cool thing is that they insert over your existing mounts, so if for some reason you ever want to take them out, you can.
here is a pic of them installed on my car. REAR MOUNT ![]() FRONT MOUNT ![]() finally... here is a pic of the rear motor mount that i filled myself about 1yr ago. it worked well at first, but as you can see it didnt last long ![]() ![]() last but not least, there is a really awesome Video review that an mr2 ower made about the mounts. i have to say that i pretty much agree with everything he said about them in the video. the install is a little bit different on our car then the mr2, but anyone with some basic tools can do the job. took me about 1-2hrs to do the whole thing. direct link to the video: http://www.lovehorsepower.com/Videos/MR2/M...nserts_NTSC.wmv link to the website that did the review: http://www.lovehorsepower.com/MR2_Docs/MotorMounts.htm link to the site/person that made these and will be selling them. all sales questions should be emailed to kirk: http://home.comcast.net/~kirkosaurus2/MR2_...ne_inserts.html This post has been edited by lagos: Aug 2, 2006 - 3:05 PM -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

I'm not sure if this is inappropriate for this thread but I just got my car back from a mechanic and the idiot lost my rear mount bolt, anyone know a retailer that has a replacement or would I be stuck searching junk yards? I don't understand why people cant comprehend the simple fact that their local toyota dealer can get them every nut, bolt and replacement part for the car. And yes, this is the wrong thread for this. I fully comprehend that, they also charge 3-4 times as much as an aftermarket dealer (like ARP if they carried them). wow... dark! you been away for years but not that long! and this would be why I felt it was inappropriate yet asked anyway lol |

Damn, this is exactly what I need for my car! The shifting is weird at 1st and 2nd gear, and the whole car is "wobbling" at those gears. It is also very hard to get a "smooth" shift.
Will these do the job? |

Will these do the job? you could have a bad motor mount, if so, I'd get a new motor mount(s) in combination with these, don't use them as a band-aid. you'll have to get under the car and look to see if any are bad to know for sure though. -------------------- ![]() 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |

Back from the dead indeed! Buy them! They are a pain to put in, I am not going to lie, but soooooooo much more worth it. Thought my clutch was slipping, installed them, feels like a new car again!

I don't know if this will actually solve my problem... i hear a thugging sound everytime I accelerate and decelerate and it only happens when I have driven for at least an hour straight. I don't hear it in the morning when I go to work and I don't hear it in the afternoon when I leave work. It only happens after an hour of driving or so. Can somebody please verify it the poly mounts would help me?
