I've had mine almost 5 years (Feb 13th). I was a poor 17yr old at the time. As I started making and saving money I started buying things for it. I had a lot of plans for the car but it all began with the wheels and gathering parts for my tranny swap about 3 years ago. So 5 years and something like $12k later I can finally enjoy all the work that's been put into it. I'm a slave to my car, I work so I can buy car parts.

I had mine's since March 2004. Haven't gotten work done till after getting back from my deployment in 2006, so everything in my car description ie: profile is all the work done since then.

Had mine since summer 2005, spent almost if not 20,000 dollars on it already. Never ends. So many things to do so many things to try differently.

wow so that crazy. the amount some have spent on your celica's. I have had mine for about 3 years. And didnt start building it till over a year ago. Ive spent about $5,000 on upgrades. Hoping not to spend more than $6,000 for beams swap that i'll do in about 3 years.

I agree with presure 2, theres always something you can do to the celica. Every little thing you do counts. But then at the same time you have to know when to stop.
There always has to be some sort of limit, even though moding the celica's is an hobby/addiction... woot.gif

QUOTE (Lil-Joe101 @ Dec 31, 2008 - 6:59 AM) *
As you all know by now, my name is Joe I own a 6gc Gt. I have been building and working on this kid for a lil over a year now. I've done quite a bit of mods to it. Intake, ground kit, exhaust, seats, gauges, exc.

Its gone from this:

to this:

How long have you been building your 6gc and wut are some of the mods you have done?

You know what, Lil Joe? Let everyone you want rip on your spoiler. it's not any less functional than mine (is it? That's a question for you, Playr. I have no idea.) But your Celica has come a long way from where it started. I like your car a lot. Functional or not, that spoiler looks good with how you've designed your car. Besides, I can't imagine driving crazy enough in our cars to actually NEED a spoiler. It helps, yes, but I know my car in particular isn't capable of anything crazy. So Lil Joe, props to your build! Keep up the good work.

Black: Bought July '06. Stripped down to replace worn parts, clean EVERYTHING, new paint inside and out, and a swap is underway.... not a common one at all, either. Actually, I think it will be the first time this particular motor has woken up in a celi. wink.gif

Red: Bought December '07. (omg its already been over a year....) Auto to manual tranny swap, CarPC, system (not just bass...) body work experiments/practice, replaced the engine, sound deadening upgrades (its pretty well silent now)

Many other small things i can't remember ATM.

Bought my GT-Four June 2006, fresh from Japan, first Mods Jan07, since then... I try not to think about how much I have spent (still paying off the Engine build), especially since it is sitting quietly in a Garage in NZ while I waste away in Aust...

In my case I went through several celicas and none of which were ever complete. There was always something else around the corner that could have been modified. I think best thing to do is to have a VERY CLEAR idea in your head and stick to it. For example I will not be showing my car at shows but I want it to look nice for the street. Therefore things like super sparkly shiny chromed out engine are not a high priority but lets say functionality is.

I got my 1st celi in 98 and that was 1986 celi, in 99 I got a 1987 celi, in 2001 I got a 1993 all track which lasted me until we messed up the nitrous , 2001 I got a 1994 celica and had it until 2005. Had it all fancy on the outside but parted out car with a broken heart. 2005 I got a daily driver celica which I parted ways with in 2007. 2007 I got this celica and did the engine swap and started working on body but a whole 2 years later my car is in the same state it was 2 years ago.

My completion date is 2010 so just because my car is not finished does not mean I am stressing over it. After all if I had a car that was done in 2001 what would I have done all these years not upgrading or working on it?!
