Hello All! I'm excited to announce that I too will be joining the small percentage of 3sgte swapped Celica's. I purchased my 3sgte engine clip yesterday "Friday", and will receive it this coming Wednesday. I'll start my swap the last week of January due to accrued vacation that I've earned at work. In my short time on 6gc I've spent my time reading up on similar swaps so that I could learn as much as possible. I don't think i'll be able to be up in running in two days like some of the gear-heads on this site, but I certainly hope that I have the privilege to post, and work with some of the masterminds that make this site so great.

The Car:

94 Celica GT. Currently with 224,000 miles on it. The 5s still runs like a top, but I originally purchased this car to complete a 3sgte swap. I was given the privilege of driving a JDM 3rd Gen Celica RC (right hand drive...the whole 9), and I've been in love since then.

I've owned two integra's. One GS-R, and the other a GS. I learned to love Honda, but have come to realize that Toyota is WAY better. I love my car and can't wait to get started.

I'll start updates and pics as soon as I get my clip.

Please feel free...I value your feedback, and understand that I know a fraction of the information that some of the great minds on this site know!

Awesome bro - welcome to the dark side!!!
Did you get a 2nd gen RC or a 3rd gen WRC? I'm confused by what you wrote.
Expect gremlins but have the balls to work through them and it'll all be sooooo worth it! If you need any advice - please feel free to hit me up anytime.
Post tons of pics and updates

Haha wow shows how much I know. Should be a wrc. Anyone wanna help explain all of the differences? All I know is that this engine is a 94+, has a top mount water-cooler, ct20b turbo, and single-runner plenum.

the search function and stickys are your friend.
there are quite a few threads that explain the diffrences between the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gen motors, and the normal 2nd and 3rd gen and rc/wrc versions.

GOOD JOB!!!!
It's so refreshing to see someone take that advice and actually run with it and report back - keep that up and your swap will, literally, go far! [Pun intended] biggrin.gif

Now I'm beginning to get nervous....the company shipping my half-cut are having issues with getting the item to me on time. They quoted me a very low price for shipping, which I've already paid, but are now giving me the run around on shipping costs....

Then it also occurred to me....I have a viper alarm with remote start.....and i'm wondering how this is going to impact my swap....

I HATE being nervous.

Part No: Pump GSS-341 & Set Up Kit 400-760
Fits: 91-95 MR2

Description:

Walbro Fuel Pumps are direct replacements and all wiring is a plug in. They flow 255L/HR which is much larger then your stock. The pump is good for up to 400whp.

This is the Walbro pump that i'm going to purchase to use for my swap since the one for the 5s will be insufficient. Anyone see any problems with this part number?

I've also planned on using my stock hood for the time being, and simply using spacers to lift the hood in the back to fit the water to air exchanger.

I've been reading several different threads on the wiring required for the set up....clutch switch, IC Relay, Fuel Pump Relay, and wire extensions. To be honest....this freaks me out. Electrical work is one area where I lack confidence. I learn by doing on-hand work and being shown in person, but all the pictures I've seen so far have led me to more confusion. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Presure2....your write up on the wiring was wonderful...if you don't mind, I'll likely have a lot of questions for you in the future. I hope this doesn't lead to any kind of headache for you.

With that all said...I just received word from the company shipping my clip, and the item will be shipped today! I ended up having to pay an extra 161 dollars for shipping, which kind of pissed me off, but having the motor, and getting started is very important to me.

Cheers!

Pretty sure he's used to it - we all are. You've got the right idea to be courteous - the best way to do that is to search ten times before you ask one question wink.gif
I'm available to you as a resource also - anything you need to know LMK.

I really appreciate the support. You can't find that on many forums, which is why I decided to go with this forum. I'm just glad that after successfully completing this swap I too will become a valuable resource for people in my current position.

Looks sweet! You should keep it looking fairly stock and sleeperish wink.gif and maybe put some clear lights and JDM tails in later.

Thought I'd do a little something different since I haven't really noticed this on this site.....just a brief history of the evolution of my hobby....feel free to post pics of your early car projects on this thread. It's nice to see what kind of progression those of us have taken to become the people that we are today! (Car Freaks)

I'll try to explain some of it....

The owner of the white integra is a friend of mine....I painted the front half of his car
The black integra is mine...I have very few pictures of it, but the skunk2 intake manifold and the dc header are pictures of small projects on this car
the white silvia is a car that I worked very briefly on, but thought it was sexy, so i'll put it on here.
the red 240 was a car that i removed the engine from...i wanted to create a ka24det, but i was young and couldn't handle the responsibility...the silvia headlights were something that i purchased for that car that never came to be
The latest picture of me is me inside of the engine bay of my current car as i was bolting on the pressure plate (clutch install)

Bounced around quite a bit from manufacturers i see. Its cool to see people who are interested in all cars and not just certain car makers.

Good luck with the swap there are plenty of people to ask questions if needed!
