I don't normally mind black bonnets, but I don't think they really suit 6th gens because of the way the bonnet / bumper / headlights interact. Maybe on a darker car it's not so bad, but not on white.

But the car looks great regardless. smile.gif

@bonzaicelica: im thinkin about wrapping my carbon hood with white carbon fiber vinyl. i was gonna sand it down and ghetto spray can it white. im never gonna do flat black cause although my carbon hood is faded, it still looks better than flat black. but right now im broke so i cant do anything kindasad.gif

@S8S8: lol right now i just want my hood white.

can't wait for the meet..feeling like rattle canning my hood white.. kindasad.gif too broke to legit paint it.

What is your paint code? Stop into Advance Auto Parts with the code. Remove the hood, take your time priming it with Duplicolor. Then find the exact paint match in duplicolor for your paint code. Also get some cans of clear coat. It's not hard if you take your time to rattle can it properly. I've done it before and the results actually came out half way decent! If you take your time, actually take the hood off, and don't allow it to drip, your results can be close to that of a shop. It's cheap, but it takes time.

Once you're done with the painting and you let it sit for about 72 hours, go over it with a good quality wax like Zymol. It'll shine up and protect the paint. If you want to get really creative and you still want the CF look, see if you can get the threads exposed on the carbon fiber and do a light, but even coat of the paint match white, then clear coat the **** out of it. You'll get the CF effect in white, but still have a gloss!

Just sold the 6gc today. After 3 years and 5 months of owning it, I finally let it go. It was pretty sad seeing it leave the driveway..
